Homework is an important part of school life and gives parents and carers
the opportunity to share their child’s learning. At Overbury, children
are given a variety of different tasks and activities to work on at home,
except for reading, spelling and maths letters, all other homework is set
in six week blocks to give you time to complete it when you have time.
We use on line homework from Bug Club and Education City which the children
can access from home in order to further their skills. (If your child cannot
remember their username or password then please contact their class teacher.)
Maths letters are regularly sent home so that your child can teach you what
they have been doing in class, accompanied by some explanatory notes –
the reply slip enables you to feedback on their understanding.
Weekly spellings are sent home each week. We are trialling a new way of doing
this (see letter below) where your child will practice 5 spellings at home
and at school.
